Pain Begets Pain

I remember hearing a story once about a dog which became snared in a hunter’s trap. When his master found him, the dog was weak, scared, hungry, and in great pain. The dog whined for his master and longed to be freed from his predicament, but in his distressed state, unwittingly lashed out at those who sought to rescue him. I don’t recall if the dog was eventually freed or had to be put down.

The story was brought to mind because my wife and I have both recently made blog posts expressing our pain. These posts have unintentionally hurt people. We are both very sorry for this.

I’d like to expound more on this, but even thinking on it brings up further emotions of pain and frustration.
