The page turns.
It’s been a few days since I’ve made a blog post (and for those who only get these on Facebook, they are imported from my blog at jasonfranklin.wordpress.com). The past weekend has been like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.
We were invited by First Baptist Church of Holdrege, NE to come out and visit in view of a call to serve as their Associate Pastor. We flew out to Omaha on Thursday. On Friday we drove into Holdrege, looked at quite a few houses, had lunch with the church staff, enjoyed a potluck with the church body and ended the day with the FBCH youth.
On Saturday we looked at some more houses, met with the Christian Education board and had dinner and questions with the Deacon Board.
This morning I preached and the church voted directly following. The result was overwhelmingly favorable. FBC Holdrege called me to be their Associate Pastor.
Now, the dreaming durns into planning. It’s surreal to think that in a bit more than three months I’ll be living in this beautiful town in Nebraska. I feel blessed and anxious at the same time. I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that God will bring my way.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
A new chapter begins.
