Today was my first Sunday as the Lead Pastor of Harvey Park Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. This move has been the most difficult we’ve ever had. We are here, however, because we believe God has called us here and has something great in store for HPBC. I think the service went well. The fact that we had some glitches only gave me further illustrations: We are, none of us perfect, and all in need of God’s grace…and to offer grace to one another. I spoke on catching God’s vision and following His purpose for us.
After the service the church had a small reception for us. After this, I was able to visit a couple of our shut-ins and take them communion. It was obvious this simple act meant much to them and I had a good time getting to know these folk who have served so faithfully for so long.
It was a good day.
