Jenn is doubly the best. I came home from Gamefest yesterday with a nasty migraine. As I faded in and out of pain-ridden consciousness I could tell the evening wasn’t going well. Jenn had to deal with crazy children doing crazy things and a husband who was writhing and moaning in pain (I lost my migraine pills).
Today I had to get up at 4 am as my back was screaming at me laying in bed for more than twelve hours. My headache, though not gone was at least not debilitating. A hot shower and a light breakfast helped me attain at least the illusion of feeling human. I fell asleep in my recliner to be awakened by Amie coughing on me. “Papa, I’m hungry” said the cough monster.
Many thanks to Bob Meade who had a ham and biscuit breakfast sandwich waiting for me at church. That and the second cup of coffee hit the spot.
Oh, did I forget to mention that I was preaching today. Pastor Darren didn’t cut me off so I guess I didn’t spout too much crazy from the pulpit.
Upon arriving back at home I scarfed down a quick bite of leftover pizza and crashed. I awoke three hours later. It’s now 5:30, Maggie is at her first soccer practice and I’ve still got a bit of a headache. We have community group tonight. Time to make dinner.
